From Concept to Creation

From Concept to Creation

This story began with ideas of tornadoes, tsunamis, frozen oceans, and the downfall of every character that I planned on making you love. When the writing of this novella began I wanted the reader to feel my pain. The pain of losing everyone you cared about, either physically or emotionally. Over time, this novella became a place where I could rewrite the love, the loyalty, the determination to stay with someone. What it means to hold onto someone.

Three years ago, I set out to craft a story that would blend imagination and reality, and what emerged was something beyond my wildest dreams. Daylight Never Came was called "And Then It Ended" when it first began. The final piece started with a similar plot but extremely different execution! It started as a spark, an idea scribbled into notebooks and whispered to myself while I was working in sales.

At first, the story was a whole lot bigger and more eleborate with so many loose ends and question marks - a lengthy narrative with straightforward characters. But as I kept writing, the characters spoke louder, their world expanded, their pains became real, and the themes of sibling love, determination, and the dystopian life of survival deepened. What began as a few pages turned into a journey that tested my creativity, my discipline, and even my confidence as a writer.

There were countless moments when I wanted to give up on the entire idea. I revised the entire book from the name to the end credits, deleted entire sections, and even questioned if the book would ever feel "ready". But every time I thought about stopping, the story kept calling me back. It was finished with me - and I wasn't finished with it.

Now, after years of shaping, reshaping, and trusting the process, I'm proud to finally share it with the world. Daylight Never Came is a sci-fi thriller at it's core, but it's also about resilience, survival, and the light we search for even in the darkest places.

Stay tuned to hear sneak peaks, the journey, the struggles, my reflections, and spoilers!!
